“The picture, taken in Times Square on Aug. 14, 1945, shows Greta Zimmer Friedman getting a smoldering smooch from a sailor on V-J Day as the streets filled with people celebrating the Japanese surrender. It was published in Life magazine.” http://bit.ly/1NqEe2S"
Veterans Day is one of those holidays that fills my body with gratitude and pride. That one can only express through a soft deep inhale of thought and exhale of thanks. As i sit back and really reflect on our Veterans and Military . Because their not just our serves men and women. But our brother and sisters , mothers, fathers and children. You guys gave so much to this nation and continue to give for we can live our life. That is the ultimate service to place others before yourself and I thank you. As a country we are thankful.
I currently have friends and family members that are part of the Military and I see how important this date means to them. I love that we can all acknowledge them right before the holidays begins. On Sunday November the 12, 2017 my son and his boys scout troop will be serving breakfast to Veterans and other families at Boy Scouts Troop 301 at 3625 Harlem Ave, Berwyn, Illinois 60402 . It is a honor to be part of the group of parents that will serve Veterans and their families during this special weekend. We value your sacrifice and dedication to our nation . And if i can be part of honoring true heroes my son and his troops can look up to, words cant even express my gratitude.
